Come join us in the heart of México for a spiritual retreat celebrating Hanuman Jayanti, the full moon day when Sri Hanuman appeared on this earth. The place is at the Centro Jamadi retreat center where permaculture and yoga merge.
This 150-acre private retreat provides comfortable accommodations and delicious vegetarian meals, with produce picked fresh from the Jamadi permaculture garden.
Naren K. Schreiner with the help of Lopamudra Bose and Kunal Khanna will offer a traditional and devotional experience that will include sacred rituals, devotional chanting, meditation, and readings from the scriptures that reveal Hanuman's glory. In addition, there will be time to enjoy walks in Nature, hatha yoga, and a special presentation of martial arts in honor of Sri Hanuman, the divine warrior.
The retreat will end with a special day trip to La Peña de Bernal, one of the world's largest monolith rocks. The rock stands tall with a sacred presence that has drawn pilgrims since ancient times. The pueblo at its base offers a quintessential Mexican village experience, with artesian shops, delicious food and plenty of beautiful photos.

Hanuman Jayanti, the appearance of Sri Hanuman on earth, falls on the full moon of the Vedic month of Chaitra (March-April) and is observed all over India. This year it falls on Saturday, March 31—perfect for a retreat weekend.
Thursday March 29: Arrive in time to take our private shuttle leaving from the Querétaro Airport preferably by 6:00pm. We stay at Centro Jamadi until Monday morning (April 2), then we leave after breakfast to visit La Peña de Bernal, one of the world's largest and most sacred monoliths. A shuttle can take you to Querétaro Airport, or downtown Querétaro by 4:00pm. We will do our best to accommodate your schedules.
Centro Jamadi, an hour drive from Querétaro, Mexico. Those from USA might wonder if it's safe. It's absolutely safe! The entire state of Querétaro has no warnings from the US Secretary of State. We've been traveling here for years without any incidents. It is a historical and beautiful area at heart of México's freedom movement and independence. Please note that the city and retreat are at high elevation, between 6,000-7,000 feet. Centro Jamadi is located in the area where the indigenous people, Otomí, once lived and ruled.
We will also visit La Peña de Bernal for a day of pilgrimage to the sacred monolith and also shopping in artesian markets and enjoying a quintessential "Pueblo Mágico"—México's official designation for a "Magic Village".
Those who wish to stay on a few days can enjoy Querétaro and the world-famous town San Miguel de Allende, only 45 minutes away.
Led by Naren K. Schreiner along with Lopamudra Bose and Kunal Khanna, the Sangita Yoga team. Centro Jamadi and it's wonderful staff is run by our dear friends Pablo and Marisela who will also be a special part of the experience.
Click here to view the rooms at Centro Jamadi. They are spacious and comfortable, have a private shower and a separate private bathroom. Each room has 2 beds with the option of pullout beds totaling 4 beds. It can get very cold there at nights and mornings, so bring some warm layers. The sun is very intense here because of the higher elevation, so bring hats and sunblock.
The water comes from the spring on the land, giving a purity that most of us do not have. Many natives drink this water, but if you're concerned you should drink the bottled water provided.
The vegetarian cuisine is home cooked at the kitchen, and features some of the most delicious, healthy, and creative delights of Mexico, with fresh produce and herbs from the Jamadi permaculture farm.
Travel at your own expense to Querétaro Airport. Try Google Flights to find good deals. SoCal residents can travel across the CBX Bridge and fly from Tijuana Airport. Some have found this to be more affordable than LAX or San Diego. Feel free to contact us for suggestions or questions.
Shuttle to Jamadi and return to Airport on Monday are included.
Vegetarian meals, home cooked at Jamadi with produce from their permaculture farm, plus daily snacks and water, are all included.
