345.00

This one of a kind sari is created out of natural, honey colored, 100% pure tussar silk and beautified with the renowned Chikankari embroidery.

Tussar is a form of raw silk that comes from cocoons of wild silk worms that live in the forests of North Eastern India. It is also called Ahimsa Silk because unlike other silks, no silk worms are harmed during the manufacturing process. The local people of these areas use traditional methods of harvesting the cocoons of the silk worms after the moths have abandoned them.

The color, sheen, texture and vibration of this silk are very different from any other kind of silk. The are often left un-dyed to preserve its natural hues.

Chikankari embroidery is a specialty of the fabled city of Lucknow in Northern India. This art form developed during the Mughal rule which spanned from the 16th - 18th century.

This silk sari is light, beautiful, and the color reads as a gentle gold, with hints of yellow and cream.

Embroidered blouse included, size 38 bust. As with all blouses, the size can be adjusted within 1-inch larger or smaller.
